Transit Scheduler I
Southwest Iowa Planning Council is seeking to fill a position of Transit Scheduler I for Southwest Iowa Transit Agency (SWITA). This is a full-time position that primarily works with clients over the phone to schedule trips. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working with the public in a fast-paced working environment. Individuals with experience working with elderly and disabled populations are encouraged to apply. The job comes with an excellent benefits package which includes health insurance and IPERS.
Job Duties:
- Answer transportation department phones
- Utilize transit management software to schedule and assign trips
- Communicate client transportation needs to drivers
- Data entry/verification of driver entered data
- Perform other related duties as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the transit system
Minimum job requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills
- Preferably at least 5 years experience working in an office setting.
- Must have good communication skills with drivers, customers and office personnel
- Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
